Kolar gold fields (KGF) is a town in the Kolar District of Karnataka. The township of KGF consists mainly of the various establishment and employees of BGML. Although, famous for being one of the few gold mines in the country, mining activities are presently non-existent. The town of Kolar is also known for its rich history.
