Belur is a historic town and one of the famous tourist destinations in Karnataka. It was also referred to as Velapuri. The Chennakesava temple in Belur is one of the best examples of Hoysala architecture. Kappe Vhennigaraya temple, the gravity pillar, Veera Narayana temple are some of the other attractions.
